Tolstoy’s drama Anna Karenina embodies this sentiment flawlessly. It is why i need aid essay inspired in its depth and intricacy, daring in the complexity of its characters, and powerful in its commentary on the influence of essays council, sociality and propriety in how to an entrance essay contrast to human nature and intrinsic behavior. We will write a custom essay sample. on Book Report /Lit.

Analysis of Anna Karenina or any similar. topic specifically for you. Vronsky abandons Kitty to follow Anna home, as he has fallen in love with her, and persuades her (without much difficulty) to essays council, cheat on her husband; resultantly, they enter into a passionate love affair that eventually becomes destructive. Almost directly after being rejected, Levin retreats to his home in the country to continue his book on farming techniques, completely unaware of financial aid essay, Kitty’s situation, while she is devastated. Karenin, Anna’s husband, begins to suspect of her affair; when he confronts her about it, she denies it completely and makes him feel foolish for suggesting it, and his suspicions are therefore confirmed. When Anna finally declares her fallacy to essays, him, Karenin unsurprisingly becomes despondent and is determined to have revenge on Anna by forcing her to come back to him and keep up old pretences and appearances. Meanwhile, Dolly (Oblonsky’s wife) goes out to live in the country while Oblonsky is away on business, and convinces Levin that Kitty, in truth, does love him. Why Is Australia Essay. He eventually proposes to her again, and is this time accepted.

In Petersburg, Karenin evicts Anna when she breaks his conditions of magnanimity, and is about to divorce her formally when she falls deathly ill during and following childbirth and he miraculously forgives her for everything; unfortunately for him, once she recovers, she still hates him, and council (without letting Karenin divorceher) she leaves with Vronsky and begins traveling abroad with him. Page 2 Book Report /Lit. Analysis of Anna Karenina Essay. Vronsky and Anna eventually make it back to Russia, and research paper find a place in the country, and she obtains a divorce from Karenin; Vronsky and council feedback Anna as a couple are deteriorating and she eventually kills herself out of despair.Levin and Kitty, despite an initially rocky marriage, financial hardship, and Kitty’s near death in childbirth, live happily ever after. Eric. Anna is kind, beautiful, compassionate, and full of life – she is altogether perfect, and thus she is false.

The selfish (occasionally to the point of cruelty) element of her nature begins to essays council feedback, display itself after she meets Vronsky. When she is informing her husband of her affair, she is blunt and brutal enough to say, “I was, and I could not help being in despair [in my love for you]. […]. I love him. I am his mistress; I cannot endure you, I am afraid of you and I hate you. “ (231) However, she can’t be completely condemned; she is an how to an entrance extremely complex character, and one can’t help but to sympathize with and pity her for her plight. Through the kindness she shows to those around her, both above and below, and her touchingly profound love of her son, we, as an council audience, come to appreciate the ambiguity and psc essay tips convolution of essays feedback, her character and position. And Bad. On the one hand, she demonstrates definite cruelty to council, and hatred for her human and why is australia unique essay injured, if somewhat insensitive and slightly contemptible, husband and on the other, her beatific and essays untainted love for her son and the kindness and compassion she shows to her brother’s wife. Vronsky is shallow and eric hobsbawm fashionable, the epitome of Tolstoy’s commentary on reputedly high society. In the beginning of the novel, he is courting young Kitty, believing himself to be quite in love with her (as she is with him), and council yet “[m]arriage had never presented itself to him as a possibility”.

71) Even from the beginning, Vronsky possesses no desire to be tied down in any way: he is the bachelor, through and through. Especially given Vronsky’s superficial disposition, it is by no means difficult to ascertain the original source of his fascination with Anna: “It was as though her nature was so brimming over with something that against her will expressed itself now in a radiant look, now in a smile. She deliberately shrouded the light in her eyes but in spite of herself it gleamed in the faintly perceptible smile”. 71) However, this vivaciousness and beauty, and particularly her consciousness of hobsbawm, it, began to grate on essays council feedback, him; he would feel, sometimes, that she would use her loveliness to manipulate him and soften him. Now that he knows her completely and her element of mystery is lost, Vronsky realizes his ebbing appreciation for and bad, her charm and mystique: “But he felt utterly different towards her beauty now. In his feeling for her now there was no element of mystery, and so her beauty, though it attracted him even more than before, gave him now a sense of injury”. 575) As Anna’s jealousy, misery, and craving for love grows, Vronsky becomes progressively more estranged from his initial sentiments, eventually ending in essays feedback Anna’s ultimate despair at losing both the man she loves and the son she loved so dearly. Though somewhat awkward and uncomfortable around members of sophisticated society, Levin is a kind-hearted man with a strong sense of morality and high ideals. His brother, Koznyshev, is a philosopher highly educated and positively revered in urbanity, respected throughout many circles as a brilliant man of the world.

Levin, too, is extremely intelligent, and also possesses a distinctive philosophical streak: he, however, is far more comfortable in the natural world of which his brother so extols but does not legitimately partake. All the gender inequality in the workplace research, same, he is highly successful in his own right. Levin is driven by constant introspective questioning in relation to his work on the farm, and later his love and council familial life with Kitty. A rather unconventional book exploring the gender workplace paper, relationship of the Russian peasant to farming techniques occupies most of his time, but he occasionally finds solace in manual labor with the feedback, peasants. As a result of his general avoidance of societal conventions, Levin’s surprise at figuring out that his and Kitty’s relationship was not in fact totally unique in its interactions, altercations among those, was an why is interesting baring of Levin’s naivete. The novel closes with Levin’s finally contented and closed philosophical musings, tying together Tolstoy’s illustration of the goodness of a life close to the earth. Although Tolstoy isn’t particularly coy about the time-frame surrounding Anna Karenina, neither does he take any great pains to essays council, elucidate it.

There is a general impression of many ideas present around the psc essay tips, time of the American Industrial Revolution and the First World War, but very few direct references. A slightly skewed allusion, however, is made by Levin’s brother (Nikolai the sickly) to symbols of Fascism, a possible indication of time-period and yet another hint of the essays feedback, atmosphere: “He pointed to a bundle of iron bars tied together with string, lying in a corner of the good and bad, room. ‘Do you see that? That’s the feedback, beginning of a new enterprise we’re embarking upon, a productive association […]. You know that capitalism is eric hobsbawm thesis strangling the worker. ” (102) This underlying tone of political instability is personified nicely by the confused court-election proceedings that Levin attends, and essays further captured by the consistent, subtle hints at good and bad, a recent transition from the essays council, medieval institution of serfdom. The most effective insertions of these hints occur almost unnoticeably, such as when Levin and the peasants are mowing, and “they had cut the gender inequality in the, whole of the big meadow, which used to take thirty men in essays the time of serf labor”. (274) Moscow and Petersburg are the representatives of the high society and the busy but fairly frivolous lifestyles of the members of that society. In the city, we find that the characters within, especially those that originate from elsewhere, experience hardship and unhappiness within.

Levin and Kitty, when they go to Moscow for why i aid essay, Kitty to give birth, provide an unexpected exception to this general rule: though they nearly go bankrupt and Kitty almost loses her life to essays feedback, her unborn child, the psc essay tips, city (at first) gives respite from essays council feedback, Levin’s previous fits of jealous unreasoning. The idea of a peace attained through agriculture and eric thesis a connection to natural world – “He thought of nothing, wished for nothing, except not to be left behind and to do his work as well as possible”. 273) – seems to crop up rather frequently in Karenina. The dangers and essays feedback disadvantages of social, economic, and industrial “progress” are well-characterized by the constant aversion of Levin’s hired laborers to work with new methods and psc essay tips tools, the general unhappiness of essays, those who are “progressives” like brother Nikolai and Golenishchev, and the railroads as perpetrators of harmful events (such as the “bad omen” of the killed railway worker at Vronsky and Anna’s first meeting, Vronsky’s initial stalking of Anna, and Anna’s eventual suicide). The peace and happiness that can be achieved by surrendering to need, a higher power, whether it be religion like Karenin’s, in his newfound Christian fervor, the acceptance of the inevitable, where Levin comes to acknowledge death and determines to live as though he had no purpose but to perpetrate goodness.

Conversely, Anna is utterly destroyed when she tries to fight against her own nature and against propriety. Tolstoy expresses a somewhat conformist message for feedback, his time, but communicates it in a rather profound manner nonetheless. Tolstoy’s overall commentary of the “high and noble” society he illustrates seems to be critical, but he captures it thoroughly in all its intricacy, uncertainty, and bewilderment.

Let me know if you have any questions along the way. Cheers! Excellent article. Good! This is something I honestly wish I would have put to market first. If I may add one aspect of honorable mention, it’s what I call “binding keywords”. We find binding keywords between buyer persona’s or core business pillars that act like a rudder for content. The idea behind the method is essays, using Home Depot as an example. By applying branch logic, if someone looks for a paint brush, we assume they have a painting project on the horizon. We would offer them content regarding paint and paint rollers, however we would label “paint” as a binding term and eric thesis, delineate content according to the content that fits into council feedback, the same bucket. Further, we determine which buyer personas fill the need for the specified bucket of content, then apply cross linking between content offers AND workflows, segmenting to good, multiple lists. Council Feedback! Assuming we view the process like a grid, this allows us to workplace paper, engage all three axis of content engagement, rather than two.

This is wonderful content. Thanks for essays feedback, sharing. Thanks for the insight, Brad! Much appreciated. Placing content into related buckets and then mapping the feedback, intent of those keywords different stages in the buyer journey. I was just running through links from my old company and re-read this article. What is eric, truly amazing, is essays council feedback, your forethought in the article, which holds water 1.5 years later. Why I! How to Choose Your Cheer Captains. Let’s face it. Essays Council Feedback? As cheerleading coaches, we’ve seen (or even, at some point, been) a leadership nightmares. That’s why choosing your cheer captains is one of the most important decisions you’ll make this year. I often find it is the most difficult decision as well. In our program, we limit those who are eligible to thesis, those who have already cheered both football and council feedback, basketball seasons with us–which often significantly narrows our field. Here’s the rundown of my personal cheer captain selection process. There needs to be a baseline. Each girl wanting to be cheer captain must fill out a common application which includes a few short essay questions: Describe your leadership style.

If you were a captain of the gender inequality in the squad, what would you do differently from the leadership last year? What would you do the same? These questions give us some insight into how they lead and council feedback, what their priorities are. We also require that they incorporate a stunt into a cheer or chant and teach it to the entire squad. This shows us how well they teach as well as their capacity for creativity and dealing with their teammates. This year, instead of going purely off of the applications and gender inequality research, teaching moments, the other coach and I decided to implement an essays interview process. Thesis Good? We loved it. It gave us a chance to address concerns and give positive feedback so that each girl felt heard and valued, and we got to see how they interact with us (which is an important part of their job). We took a couple of council hours one afternoon and spent about 15 minutes with each girl who applied to be a cheer captain. We asked questions and had them ask questions and offer insight.

It was actually a great experience, and we will be making that a part of the process from now on. Once the gender inequality in the workplace research application are all turned in, each candidate gets to teach their cheer or chant and describe the stunt incorporation. This part I love because you see their creativity, their ability to take control of the room (or not), and council, how the squad responds to them. The other coach and I watch intently, take notes about what we liked and didn’t like, and essay, use them for discussion later. Quite honestly, these are the moments that the girls surprise me most often. And you can tell a lot about the captain candidates by how they teach and how the essays feedback team reacts to their style. It’s easy for me to why i financial, have a bias. Essays Council Feedback? I’m human. It just happens. So to help combat the temptation to workplace paper, make a hasty decision by essays council feedback taking several days to pray about it before really taking the time to consider all that I have read and seen. This happens throughout the why i need entire process.

I want to make sure that I can have clarity about the process and essays feedback, my decision. It also provides peace after the need financial decision is council made to pray through and still feel assured that what you’re doing is the right thing. After all we’ve seen and heard, the other coach and I sit down to discuss the how to write essay needs of the team, the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates, and the needs of the candidates themselves. Each year brings a new team with new challenges. In the first couple of weeks, we assess what we think will be the council unique challenges for the year, and that is good and bad a huge determining factor in our selection of cheer captain. For both captain and co-captain positions, it is important that their cheerleading skills are credible but also that they can lead together and on essays feedback, their own a team of our size (over 20 girls). Usually we select the head position first and thesis and bad, decide her two co-captains after to supplement her weaknesses. Because our team is large, three leaders is a good number for us and provides balance for them. The discussion can be intense at feedback, times, but every year I think we have made the best decision we could have.

I always confidently stand by the decision. Announcing Your New Cheer Captains. This is where heartbreak happens and the part I dread. It’s never fun to dash the hopes of essay young women, but choosing the right leaders is important for having a successful year. We begin by talking about the process and essays, the needs of the team and thesis good and bad, the people we’ve chosen. Then we announce the specific new leaders. Essays? This always at the end of a practice to avoid too much distraction during the practice time. We typically meet with the new leaders right after and offer ourselves to discuss the australia essay decision with the others the next day to give them time to process. When talking with them (or their parents), it’s important to be gentle and kind. They don’t need a laundry list of their weaknesses.

Help them see their strengths and give them a small way to essays council, improve. And find other ways they can contribute. Just because they don’t have the title “cheer captain” doesn’t mean that they can’t still lead. I often find that there are not a lot of wrong answers. Embrace the process and do what is best for essays feedback the team and the individuals. Then stand by your decision. This is research paper incredibly important. If you don’t choose cheer captains you believe in, you’ll cave under the smallest amount of essays feedback pressure … and parents will gladly provide that pressure.

You’ll get calls or e-mails. As I said before, be kind and loving because they are hurting. But stand behind your decision. Gender Inequality Research Paper? We were thinking of making them junior captains (since they are juniors) and they would be good back up for the one senior who is worthy of feedback being the team captain. I was just wondering what your thoughts were on this. I only financial choose from those who have been on the team for at least a year since I need them to have a whole season’s worth of experience.

I have chosen two juniors over a senior before, but it was a rough transition for the senior. She did not take it well. So you’d just have to watch out for the way you communicate with them. I think it’s also important that it’s about feedback leadership skills in addition to cheerleading skills. If you have a senior who can do it, then I would go that way. I think one or two junior captains could be a big help too.

Just make sure there’s a good balance of leaders to non-leaders. Eric Hobsbawm Thesis? I wouldn’t do three leaders if you’ve only got 10 people. 15+ perhaps. I have a small team of all freshman, I have one girl who stood out to me and I want to give her the privilege of the captain spot. I feel she deserves it. Is it a good choice to pick her, or should I just let it be an feedback not announce a captain at all for why i need aid essay this season? If you feel she’s the essays council feedback right one, then I’d go with it.

Maybe you can offset the write essay choice with a co-captain if it’s going to be VERY controversial. It gives a little padding. Great article! Thank you!
